TODAY, I want to talk about the power of blogging + what it can truly do to help you book more weddings for your wedding biz.

(+ it soooooooo can.) I can’t possibly get into ALL of the reasons wedding planners should blog but I can hit some of the major ones.

Here are at least 8 reasons wedding planners should blog because it is fab for your business:

1. Credibility

When you blog, you’re sharing information with the brides + grooms that are reading what you have to say. It helps to build credibility for you as a wedding pro + credibility for your business in general.

2. Expert status

Planning weddings, shooting wedding photographs, creating the perfect wedding cake–whatever your part is in the wedding industry, you are the expert at doing it.

When you blog, you’re sharing your expert advice + tips–positioning yourself as the expert you are. EVERYONE wants to work with the expert.

3. Books your calendar

Sharing useful + relevant information with wedding couples can book you more weddings + book your calendar. I can’t tell you how many times wedding pros hear, “I’ve been following your blog (or you) for a while + now I want to hire you.”

4. Builds your list

Blogging is also a great way to capture the info of the wedding couples that are visiting + reading your site + blog. There are a couple of ways to tackle this.

BUT, getting them on your list allows you to continue your conversation with them beyond your blog, so you can CONVERT them into clients.

5. Positions you as a source of info

Brides + grooms are information hounds. They are constantly on the hunt for wedding-related information, advice, tips, resources–you name it, they want to know about it.

When they find this information in your blog posts, whoa, pump the brakes, because now they’re going to look to you as the source of wedding info they’ve been looking for all this time. AND they are going to keep coming back for more.

If you already have a blog for your wedding planning biz, then you’re probably already experiencing the power blogging has. If you don’t, it’s time to get one. Wedding planners are achieving phenomenal results and it’s time for you to grab your piece of the blogging pie.

6. Search engines love blogs

Search engines, like Google, love blogs because blogs always have fresh content; contain lots of links to outside sources; if done right, get linked to by other bloggers, website owners, article writers, etc.; + have visitor comments that start a conversation between you, brides + grooms.

7. Brides + grooms love blogs

Second, brides + grooms love blogs because they always have fresh content on weddings. Imagine if you update your blog at least two to three times per week. This means that two to three times per week, interested brides + grooms return to your blog to see the new + fabulous information you have to share.

8. Produces wedding leads

You can include a subscription box on your blog to gather bride or groom information. This gives you the opportunity to communicate with wedding couples on an ongoing basis to try to turn them into booked weddings.

Most blogs also offer RSS feeds, where brides or grooms automatically receive updates when new content posts to your blog. It can bring the wedding couples coming back to your blog so you continue to have a chance to turn them into leads to book weddings.

It’s Time to Blog

If you already have a blog for your wedding planning business blog, then use these guidelines to ensure your wedding blog is helping you achieve success.
